Infinity loves Perl and we’re happy to announce our involvement in The Perl Conference 2017. Infinity is proud to be a sponsor for the conference, and pleased to provide the Perl in a Day workshop by John “genehack” Anderson. Additionally, John is presenting his “A Modest Introduction to Swift” talk, and Jay Hannah is giving a talk on “Civic Hacking: TIF is millions of YOUR tax dollars”. And one more thing… we’re giving you a conference app on iOS and Android, to make it easier to browse the schedule on your mobile device!
Infinity’s latest conference app, made with Xamarin, hosts a one-stop-shop to help you get the most out of your attendance of The Perl Conference. It features:
- Talk schedule (with the ability to mark your favorite)
- Event schedule
- #tpc2017dc Twitter feed
- Sponsor Info
- Calendar integration
It’s available now in both the Google Play Store and the iOS app store! If you plan on attending The Perl Conference in D.C., we hope you download our app and let us know what you think. You can even have a chat with @genehack (over a beverage, of course) and let him know your thoughts as well.
We find ourselves thanking Xamarin a lot, but we love working with them so much, so thanks again Xamarin for open sourcing the Evolve conference app. We’re also hosting the entire backend for the app on the Azure cloud. Finally, look for an upcoming blog post by our resident Xamarin MVP Sean Sparkman on how we automated our build and deployment process to enable us to iterate rapidly on changes to the app.
Finally, if you would like help developing a custom, cross-platform, fully native mobile application for your next conference, or any other mobile development needs, please contact us.
