What we do

You may not know our language, but we know yours. But not only yours. We speak the language of everyone involved in your project and translate it.

We translate your business needs into solutions the CTO and CFO can get behind. We translate technical limitations into alternative approaches. We translate the designer’s vision into an implementable, usable and effective face for your customer.

Software development—User-facing and behind the scenes

We build software that’s fast, secure, solid. We build Web sites, Web applications, Mobile sites, Mobile apps, Middleware, Databases, Data layers and interfaces, Web services, Email blasts, and that crazy thing you’ve thought of that doesn’t have a name yet.

No matter what we build together, you can count on us to know what’s hot and what’s not. We’ve kicked the tires on everything under the sun. But you’ll never hear from us you need to use this tool or that tool. We’re not into the latest thing because it’s hot. We’re into the latest thing if it works—and it fits the job at hand.

At the end of the day, what matters is your customers’ experience. Bad design shows up as a bad user experience. A customer who can’t find the information she needs. Who gets quickly frustrated. Who never comes back. We create software that’s intuitive, scalable, actionable, and rock-solid reliable. That’s understandable—in any language.

Our consultants don’t deal in tired PowerPoint matrixes and Venn diagrams. Always on top of what’s emerging and what’s fluff, we draw on this knowledge to determine the most creative yet appropriate solution to fit your need, your expression, your customer.

Then, we’re your partners in bringing the solution to life. Beyond executing your plan, we’ll steer the project through potential budget sinkholes, feature creep, and around design that detracts instead of delivers. Because you’re not just trying to ‘put up a site,’ you’re going for great.

Better. Stronger. Faster. We have a culture of continually expanding our skills and we're sure you do, too. Let us come in and train your team on a variety of topics. We have decades of hard won accumulated knowledge. Lessons you won't get from any book, but from time spent on the front lines.

Introductory courses:

  • Zero to Perl
This training, given at a number of YAPCs and Perl workshops, is designed to get developers productively up to speed with Perl over a 1 or 2 day training session.
  • Introduction to Moose
This course, also presented at multiple conferences, will get you up to speed with Moose, the widely-used post-modern object system for Perl5, developed at Infinity.
  • Web development basics
Web development moves fast, and it's hard to get back up to speed if you fall out of date. This course is designed to help with that problem.

Advanced courses:

  • Moose (the postmodern Perl object system)
This course, presented at several YAPCs, is a soup-to-nuts deep dive into Moose.
  • The effective use of the Git revision control system
Git is an absolute requirement for software development these days. This course will teach you not only the basics but also set you up for more advanced usage when you're ready.
  • Productive management and collaboration techniques for remote and virtual teams
Infinity has been 100% remote for over 15 years, and we like to think we're pretty good at it. This course will teach you our secrets for effective distributed collaboration in software development.

Custom courses:

If you're looking for something that isn't represented in the list above, please reach out so that we can discuss developing custom training that is perfectly suited to your exact needs. We're able to offer custom training in almost any Perl or web development-related topic … and we love a challenge!
